With a BookEndz Docking Station your PowerBook can be connected or removed in seconds. You'll never leave it on your desk because it was too difficult to disconnect all of your desktop devices. And by using a single CPU, file synchronization problems between a separate desktop computer and a portable computer are eliminated. You will always have the correct application and data files with you.
Ports
All rear panel PowerBook ports are replicated, including two FireWire, two USB, Ethernet, S-video output, Modem, Audio Input, Audio Output, Monitor and Power.
Also included is a hardware reset switch, IR window, security slot to prevent theft of the dock and access to computer security slot.
PC cards can be inserted and removed while the PowerBook is docked, and cable routing channels secure PC card cables. Expansion modules can also be inserted or removed while the computer is docked.
Size
With the PowerBook attached, the system measures 1.5” high, 13.5” wide and 13” deep. Not much more than the G3 by itself.
Operation
Place your PowerBook on the BookEndz dock, lower the rear door and slide back until connected. You’re ready to go in about two seconds, and it can be disconnected in about the same amount of time. Lighted logo signifies power availability.
Initial installation takes about as long as you currently spend individually connecting all devices to the PowerBook. Like a desktop computer, this is only done once with a BookEndz Docking Station.
Options
Every BookEndz Docking Station comes complete, and allows full connectivity of your G3 PowerBook.
One option worth considering is to purchase several BookEndz Docking Stations. This would allow you to use the same PowerBook as a desktop machine in multiple locations.
